I love these things, our shop doesn't allow music of any kind, i have been using these for quite some time with great success. The sound quality is really good if you are using the foam earplugs, you lose a lot of bass if you use the rubber ones, but they stay cleaner and are easier to use. The foam pads don't compact very well for insertion due to the hole down the center and can be a challenge to get in some times. I only give them 4 stars instead of 5 because the cord is too short based on the nature of how these are used. Since you have to hide the cord, it would be nice if i could run the cord down my back under my shirt then tuck it into my front pocket with my mp3 player. So i either have to buy an extension cord, or wear a undershirt with a pocket which adds a slight detection risk if your over-shirt is a thin material. It would be nice if the cord was a foot longer.
5.0 out of 5 stars I just clean them with safety glasses cleaner at the end of the day and they're good to go
Works as advertised. I use these to listen to audiobooks while at work on a construction site with a Jumbl bluetooth adapter. I've been using them for about a week with the silicone ear pieces. They block out the noise from a metal cutting chop saw just as well as a normal pair of re-useable silicone ear plugs. I just clean them with safety glasses cleaner at the end of the day and they're good to go. Sound quality is suprisingly good after reading some of the other reviews, but I don't exactly need perfect quality for an audiobook. So far I have nothing bad to say about these.
5.0 out of 5 stars They almost work too good
Fantastic! They're durable and my customers think I have real safety plugs in and they don't give me a hard time about them. Just as a precaution, they work so well, you have to keep the volume super low or you won't hear anything other than the music. These are super for on the plane too (I would even go so far as saying they work better than noise cancelling headphones). I had mine for over 6 months before the cable got a short just near the plug.... All the other ones only last maybe a month; mostly because I keep the phone in my back pocket while listening to music when I'm working.
They're very comfortable, and have perfect sound quality. Great for using on a motorcycle, or at work on a construction site. I had my last pair for almost three years with regular use! Unfortunately I found out they don't like washing machines, so don't let that happen. The only real damage on that pair, as far as I could tell, is that the wires got loose going into the jack so it just made a poor connection. I've had my second pair for quite awhile. They work great, and I even caught them on a clip of a drill which tore the insulation. Little bit of tape to fix that, but they never quit working.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great work remedy... MUST Read This!
Updated... I work in cold temps so I bought a Bluetooth device like TaoTronics Bluetooth AUX Adapter. sewed all in a cap and Bluetooth from a Samsung s5 256gb sd card 20000 songs. Phone ebay $50, and the rest @ $20 inexpensive for a great pc, High powered mp3 player you get from this setup. I don't use this as a phone except Wi-Fi app. Great setup. OLD review follows now- I love these. I did have a problem with the connector shorting out. My fault technically because I move around a lot. But cable build quality is not good. Only if they could make a nylon sheath around cable, this would be the product. Good bass and plugs are comfortable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Be Careful!
This was a very good concept. At first, these were perfect and I was so much happier at work. I think they work a bit TOO good because while it plugs out all the loud noise, my supervisors and co-workers can't talk to me without having to repeat themselves 5 times or having to pull out one or both plugs to hear them. Sometimes I would pull them out, and I think that is how I ran into some issues. These are fragile, and one of the plugs stopped working and stopped playing music and I am pretty sure it is from me yanking it out to hear my supervisors. We aren't allowed to have these on the floor, so in that department (unless your supervisors are super observant), they are well hidden and they are a good length. Just be careful with the product.
Safety
Plugfones® Certified Noise Reduction Ratings
The most important thing to remember about Plugfones is that they’re earplugs first and earbuds second. As such, the entire Plugfones line is tested and compliant with ANSI S3.19-1974 noise reduction standards and meets NIOSH criteria. When used as directed, our products are certified for Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) of 29 or 27 dB, depending on the plugs used. For environments with high levels of noise, it may be necessary to use over ear protection such as earmuffs in conjunction with Plugfones products.
Plugfones have been independently tested to meet U.S., E.U., and Australian standards. For more information, visit our Safety page.
