5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for work conditions.
I've used this for two days now. In heat, water, and, rough physical conditions. It's holding up well and does everything advertised. Update. Used these daily for months now. These things are durable and quality. Holding up very well and have not degraded in sound of quality of manufacturing. 5 star product
5.0 out of 5 stars I didn’t expect much, what a satisfying surprise...
I work at a machine shop, I’m historically rough with inexpensive things like these headphones or buds or whatever you want to call them AND I rarely write reviews. These stupid little ear plug fakers are GREAT! Despite the tiny gauge wire which I constantly tug on, they have yet to spark out on me even once! Look, for the price, get a set, can’t beat it!
4.0 out of 5 stars Mala promo
No hay necesidad de hacer mala promoción dice que puede durar hasta 10 horas de batería y se me descargó en 7 horas mi primer día de uso ni siquiera mis 8 horas de trabajo
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for less cost
They fit properly with changeable ear pieces, and being they look & wear like regular ear plugs at work.Awesome
4.0 out of 5 stars Not terrible
They work pretty good. My biggest complaint is the noise cancellation. I work in a loud factory and when I have these in I can't hear people right next to me talking to me, but can hear the radio playing from across the giant building I'm working in, weird. The sound quality isn't terrible but is a little lacking in bass. As far as battery life goes it works good for an 8 to 10 hour shift no issues, but once it says battery is low it shuts off a couple minutes later and says it still has 20% battery life left.
5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite work headphones
Great sound quality and outstanding noise cancellation, extended battery life. I charge them over night and they last through my whole entire 10 hr shift of straight podcasts lol.
4.0 out of 5 stars Work pretty good but not the most durable.
Pretty nice headphones that block a lot of the noise and stay in your ears really well but the remote is down by your pocket and gets snagged on things as your walking around. A busy has a set for when he's racing and he swears by them, they almost block out too much noise.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are a must buy for people looking to add a little music to their work while still staying compliant for noise protection!
I'm not usually one to write reviews for a product, but I feel as if this warranted one. This is one of the best product I have ever purchased. They work perfectly in the high noise plant where I work and since they look just like regular earplugs, no-one was any the wiser. I received the product Sep 2, 2015, and they lasted me until Jan, 20, 2016. WELL past the 90 day manufacture warranty. I put these earplugs to the ultimate test wearing them 12hrs a day 4 days a week for 6 months straight around water, dust, chemicals, and other types of dirt and debris. I even accidentally dropped them into a bucket of water, and they came out as if nothing even happened. They did get a little dirty, but being able to easily remove the plugs from the drivers made cleaning easy. Although many reviews claim that the product was cheaply made, that was not my experience and it might not be yours. Give these earplug headphones a try, I know I did. And I just ordered another pair.
They do exactly what they're supposed to do, and they do it well. They last about ten hours, which is why I gave it 3 stars for battery life. I am the only person at my workplace that uses these "earplugs" (everyone else uses SparkPlugs) and no one has questioned whether or not these are just earplugs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! Best idea ever!
***Edit*** I just purchased my 3rd set of these. Why 3? Because I use these 8 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Each set has lasted approximately 1 year. I would say that is a remarkable amount of time. Face it, that is more use than most earbuds receive. They look and work just like the hearing protection provided by my place of employment, but these are earbuds, as well. I have tried other earbud options (while waiting to receive my new plugfones), and have never found anything of this quality. They really do block the ambient noise of a manufacturing plant. As far as my original assessment of comfort, I got used to them. Besides, since other earbuds are not hearing protection, the noise of the plant hurts my ears if I try to use those other ones. These are by far, the best idea! EVER!! 🙂 ***end edit*** The new design is not as comfortable as the old one. However, it is easier to replace the foam and or silicone pieces than before. Still a wonderful find.
5.0 out of 5 stars they stay in when you put your helmet on.
I was concerned that my very tight helmet would rip these out when I put it on. No worries. They stay in, they do a good job of playing music while I ride. I don't need to crank the volume up while riding. What I can comfortably hear while standing still works fine while moving on the bike. The helmet actually smashes them more into your ears, so they become slightly louder when worn under your helmet.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit!!!
Out of all the ear phones I have purchased in the past. These are by far the best ones because I can insert them in my ears and don't have to worrying about them falling out like other brands I have worn. I have small ears and narrow outer canal which makes it difficult for ear buds to accommodate the wear. The sound quality is astonishing. I wore them during my workout on the treadmill this morning and they allowed me to stay focused and finish my one hour cardio session without any discomfort. I most definitely will purchase these again in the future.
5.0 out of 5 stars Plugfones are a Manual Laborer's Cheat Code
it worked about 4 months without a problem. 12 hour work shifts, in my ears all night. Its definitely worth the $20.00. When you see everyone looking depressed but you can smile and enjoy an audiobook during grueling repetitive work it makes you very thankful for these "plugfones". Anticipate the wiring to eventually work themselves out if you're doing manual work and occasionally get the wires caught on things and yanking... probably not safe letting the wires dangle, better to tuck them in your shirt if using heavy machinery. But I'm buying more and will continue. Might strip the sleeve and solder the wiring back... anyways... great investment... listen to audiobooks at work 🙂 get smarter while doing dummy work.
5.0 out of 5 stars No idea how people cant get these to last a while.
Ok Ive had my pair for almost a year (You purchased this item on April 20, 2018.), still work no damage and Im not gentle with them, I work with heat and welding metal all day long. My only disapproval is is the battery life which states 12, at first it did last up to 15 but over the past years its continuously dropped to around a little less then 8. Also there is this weird noise thats like a cd skipping that happens randomly the only way to clear it is to turn them off and turn them back on and reconnect, on one occasion it wouldnt shut off I have to plug it in to get it to reset but tricking it my charging it for 5 second then start then back up, thats happened once so far. I still have the original ear plugs it came with they have seen better days but over all I use then everyday up to 8 hrs a day and 5 days a week. I cant complain cause they have worked well for me. I keep seeing reviews about they break after a month or even a week, what the hell are you people doing with them? Using them as a rope to swing across caverns. My single complaint is the battery life, and being that its been almost a year Im sure its no longer covered under any warranty
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect incognito headphones for work
If you want incognito headphones these are for you. Everyone had no idea whatsoever that these were headphones. They look exactly like regular earplugs down to the size of the cable. They are definitely worth $20 to be able to listen to music at work when it's not allowed. Be aware thought you can't have too much quality and go incognito, so don't get mad off you snag them and they break. Take care of them they will last a long time.
4.0 out of 5 stars I list 7 items u may want to know
Had these a couple weeks. Most people looking at these probably work where ear plugs are required and music isn't. This works for that to an extent. They are somewhat incognito and look just like normal ear plugs, but they play music. 1. The downfall it has counter balance battery on each side which often works its way out of under collar of shirt. So u constantly have to tuck it back in. 2. if you look at my pics you can see how small the buttons are in comparison to the usb. Trying to find which is which while wearing is complicated. 3. on top of that its hard to tell the difference in the usb plug cover and the buttons. 4. A little light can be seen next to the buttons. 5. I have medium size ears an these are a large. They fit really snug. when u push them in the air doesnt exactly escape. So u feel alot of air pressure in your ears. So be careful with that. 6. cancel so good that if they off and no background noise u cant hear what anyone is saying if they right in front of u talking. Not sure if thats a pro or con. But when they in and music on it sounds descent. 7. Battery life: I work 10 hr shift which averages out to an 8 hr day with, the morning safety brief, two 20 min breaks, a half hr lunch and clean up to leave. I would say half the time the battery lasted the full shift. I turn them on an sync them after the morning safety brief. So if you sync these to your phone before u go into work an you work 10 or longer... chances are they not going to make it the whole day.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very discreet!
These things are awesome. The running joke in the shop is, don't tell anyone about them so no one finds out they aren't, "ear plugs." Pro's Discreet, we have these blue/yellow ear plugs at work. And it's pretty noisy usually. They are instantly disregarded as normal earplugs. They reduce outside noise level Con's The foam plugs that come with them are a bit too big and get dirty easy The sound is "ok" The cord is a bit short for having to run the wire all the way to my phone in my pocket. If I turn too far with my neck they usually pull out of my ear. Go ahead and get silicone replacement plugs. It's just a matter of time before the foam ones get dirty.
4.0 out of 5 stars I've had these a few months and I like them for their value
I've had these a few months and I like them for their value. I wear them under s full face motorcycle helmet and the isolation is very good. My problem is that the tube is blocked with ear wax and I need to figure a way to remove it. My old ER6i's had removable filters. You get what you pay for, most times.
5.0 out of 5 stars You're paying for the camouflage... And my boss is a fascist.
Where I work my boss has banned me from using headphones, completely ignoring the fact that they actually HELP me focus and work more efficiently. These have been a lifesaver. They seem to trick the fascist fool and have withstood the harsh environment that I work in. I even accidentally sent them through the wash and they still work. For the same money you can probably get better sound quality out of a normal pair, so you're definitely paying for the camouflage. They fit more comfortably than normal earplugs, too.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
Good protection and They will never tell the difference 🙂
5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely recommended
Purchased these while I was working a job in a papermill where it is REALLY loud. Expected to have to at least turn up the music but I was wrong. It really cancelled the background noise a lot and my music was still heard without having half volume. Only problem I have is the cord. Even though it has a clip, the cord will work it's way to one side or another as you work and end up pulling the earbud. Not a really big issue considering the trade off though. Also the durability is great. Accidently left them in my pocket and they got washed. They still worked with no loss of performance. Have recommended them to everyone who's asked about them, even site safety officers. Edit 8/9/21: lost my earbuds. Found them in a pair of shorts pocket AFTER they've been washed. This is the second time these buds have been washed. THEY STILL WORK! Changed 4 star to 5. Highly impressed
5.0 out of 5 stars MUST BUY !!
I work in a warehouse and I have to wear safety earplugs. There work perfectly for listening to music Or audio books and podcasts wile bring low key. I even had a full conversation with my supervisor and he didn’t notice .. that’s the best part
4.0 out of 5 stars Good protection and comfortable fit
I ordered this product since it comes with both full protection and high fidelity earplugs. I need full ear protection when I operate machinery. I also need partial ear protection when I operate a lawnmower or chainsaw but still be aware of my surroundings. Both pairs of earplugs work pretty well for me. These earplugs are comfortable to wear and stay put pretty well. They come with interchangeable silicone and foam tips. I like the fact that they come with an anti-drop cord which you can use to keep the earplugs over your neck when not wearing them, which is very convenient and one of the deciding factors for me. A little soft pouch with carabiner is provided for storage and travel as well. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with these earplugs. You get both full and partial ear protection pairs for under $35, which is a pretty good value in my book. The reason I knocked a star off is the lack of instructions. It took me some trial and error to figure out how to get the right protection out of them. Other than that, they get the job done.
I've ordered my second pair because I wanted to leave a pair at work. I find traditional ear buds very uncomfortable so I love these as an alternative. Good battery life; no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work great!
These are great! Easy to conceal under collar, hat, shirt if need be. They definitely reduce outside noise when used correctly. Sound quality, battery life are above what I expected. Well worth the money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Long battery life, acceptable noise cancellation, loud but poor sound.
To begin with, these earplugs + earphones are not intended for audiophiles, but are focused on two objectives: battery life, and protection against noise. And both do their job. I used them for about 7 hours, listening to audio and some occasional calls, so they last a whole working day without the need to place them in the case to recharge. They can be recharged several times before having to charge the case, and you also have the other pair of earphones. 30 hours without the need to plug them into a power outlet makes them ideal for long trips. Good noise cancellation, they work like earplugs, blocking a lot of the noise that is on the ramp of an airport where I work, although I recommend using overhead earmuffs in those places. The quality of the microphone is acceptable. The sound quality is its weak point, it is quite flat, although they are loud. The buttons work ok, although you have to press them a bit hard, personally I prefer these physical buttons than not the tactile ones. They don't fall out of the ears, after a few hours they can start to bother me, but that happens to me with all the earbuds. The case looks very cheap and low quality, not in line with the price of these earphones. I think they should include a second case for the second pair of earbuds, even if it does not provide a charge, but to be able to carry them from one place to another, since the main case is a bit large and does not fit in the pockets. In conclusion: they are not to enjoy and concentrate listening to music, but they are recommended to protect yourself from dangerous noises and listen to music in the background while working or traveling or doing other activities.
Haven't had the chance to use them in the work environment yet. But I have tested them at home. There not good enough sound quality for music. But they are great for audio books. They fit nicely. You just gotta be careful with pulling them out.Seeing that they kinda fold. Sound does leak out if turned up to loud. But I'm sure if there's a lot of noise around that won't be a problem. Unless someone is ear to ear. I like them and can't wait to use them on the working area. Because you know standing there checking parts for faults is boring.
5.0 out of 5 stars These work well on a motorcycle
I bought these to use with my Sena system inside my motorcycle helmet and they work really well at blocking out wind and engine noise. As a plus, I can talk to other riders and listen to music without other noise drowning out conversations/music. I recommend these for noise protection.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great item
Used at work. Held up good for 3 months Under constant abuse.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice
They work really well they are loud so you don't have to turn your music or what ever you listen too I like them very much
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for podcasts or audio books
I use these at work to listen to podcasts and audio books but if your plan is to listen to music, I would not recommend these. The bass is just not there. The battery life is pretty good. I've been using these for several months now and I get 10hrs of listen time at about 70-75% volume no problem.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
I bought these for my husband who had already worn out a pair of Plugfones. He really likes how durable they are.
Work Well
I got these for my husband who plays music and sometimes likes to go see live bands. He normally uses the disposable type earplugs so these were a step up. He said that these are more comfortable and he feels like he can still hear the music without it being so muffled that it's not appreciable but does not have the ear ringing the next day like he would get with cheaper plugs The only downside to these is the expense and that they are not disposable so you have to be more careful not to lose them. Thanks for reading my review
User friendly and works great for work when you are not a loud blue tooth But cord could be longer to hide the battery packs on the cords
4.0 out of 5 stars Look like earplugs, sound like earbuds, delivers whats promised.
I got these for low profile listening at work where plugs are required and buds are not allowed on the floor. So far so good. No one has noticed or said anything. If this is the use case you are looking for, these will probably work. You should know that 1. There is a yoke where the left and right "cords" join. This looks like what it is and would be obvious to anyone looking for shenanigans. 2. The cord is much much longer than any earplug cords ive ever seen. So as long as you can keep that from being seen, bobs your uncle. As to the sound quality, gotta say its really not bad. I have a pair of basic skullcandy buds that sound about the same and cost similar. So the price is about right for the sound quality. The bonus with these is that they retain a Noise Reduction Rating, which basically functions as noise cancellation, just passive and not active. Its pretty good about as good as the work supplied earplugs. Cant really complain for the most part. The build quality does feel about like it should for sub $20 earbuds. That is to say that its not top notch material, and its not gonna be a product sith a life span in years if its used regularly. At the price if i have to buy them 2 or three times a year because im rough on them, then to be able to have something to listen to 12 hrs a day, thats worth the price. This is one of their basic sets, they have higher quality ones with better build for a higher price but they dont really qualify as low profile as much as these do. Comfort, They are really comfortable. I work 12 hrs wearing them and they dont really bother my ears much. They are really soft. Theres a tendency to try to screw them in or twist them when inserting, I reccomend against this, it will drive them in but they tend to work their way back out some when you do it, which reduces the ear protection they offer. I dont want to damage my hearing, i just want music or talk during my otherwise overhelmingly noisy and boring day. They will pull out pretty easy if snagged or tugged on, so keep cord management in mind. Great purchase for the reason i got them. I turn the volume down really low, still hear about as much as i could with regular earplugs in and still have ear protection. Ticks all the boxes.
5.0 out of 5 stars They last a work day
I love that they have two pairs but one pair will last a 12 hour work day.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for an industrial environment.
I work in heavy industry around a lot of noisy machinery. Hearing protection is a must. I found that when I receive (or make) a phone call, there is no way I can hear the other party. I've tried a various earbuds designed for sports and fitness to no avail. So based on reviews I tried these. The noise attenuation is in keeping with similar standard earplugs, the sound quality is very good even for music and I can make and receive phone calls without having to go find a quiet zone. Excellent value for the money!
I am completely satisfied with these. Good enough sound and bass, good volume, great battery life. My favorite bluetooth device to date, as far as work is concerned. I am a self employed carpenter, so holding a phone is a real time suck. The microphone seems to be fairly good at allowing me to keep working, and making noise, while on the phone. Saws and such are still fairly loud on the other end, but tolerable, especially if you are talking to your carpenter buddy! Only possible complaint is it has no clip included to keep it in place. I snarfed one off an old bt device, and keep it clipped to itself below my chin. Works for me... Highly recommend! 53 WEEK UPDATE: So, my left channel cut out at approximately a week after one year. I use them every day. I still like them, and still use them for one ear audio and hearing pro. Disappointed that I could not get them to last longer. My nephew bought a pair upon my recommendation and his died in slightly less time than mine. He also had left channel cut out. I am hesitant to buy another pair, and have to downgrade from 5 stars to 4 because of our shared experience with this product. I would buy another pair in a heartbeat if they came out with a pair that had heavier gauge wire. A nice touch would also be right angle connections at the earbud, to facilitate over ear protection for really loud noise: sometimes the earbuds get pushed on by my earmuffs, which can be quite painful. I still recommend them, I guess 365 or so days of continuous duty is good enough, but the price is a bit tough to swallow.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does what's intended.
I was sceptic of these headphones when I first purchased them. After using them all day for a few days I feel that it is an okay time to write a review. The headphones work as intended. It is a noise cancelation ear bud combo. Most people looking at these probably work somewhere hearing protection is required/recommended and music isn't. This set of ear phones works for that. They are incognito and look just like normal ear plugs, but they play music. I have walked around the floor with these non stop and nobody batted an eye. So as far as that goes A+. The noise cancelation is more than adequate. I have machines running close to 100 db. I need to hear when it stops but also don't want my ear drums to explode. They get an A for that as well. Won't completely isolate noise but do good. When music is playing at around half way almost all noise is gone. For this reason I usually keep them pretty low, in case someone needs to get my attention or I need to tend to the machine. If I turn the volume all the way up on them I probably wouldn't be able to hear a jackhammer 3 feet from me. With that being said you aren't going to have beats quality as far as the sound. They are equivalent to a 20$ pair of headphones. Not too bad but nothing great, but I wasn't looking for supreme sound when I bought them, I was looking for something that cut down the noise and allowed me to listen to music inconspicuously. If this describes your situation you are in luck. Also I have purchased multiple corded headphones from the same company. I liked the concept and was on my way to write a review about wishing there was a bluetooth option when I found this. Trust me, it is worth the extra 25 dollars to upgrade to these. Final pro to this set of ear buds, they have a counterweight on the other end. I wasn't sure what it was for initially but after wearing them a bit I realized what it was. I have used bluetooth head phones before and the biggest issue is that the mic/charging portion always weighs down the other end. The counterweight prevents this and a great thought on the manufacturer's end. A If these last 3 months they are worth it in my eyes. Anything more is a win.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Noice Cancellation for Motorcycle Riding
I use these to listen to music and cancel out noise during long trips on motorcycles. They cancel noise decently well. The music was not super loud with them, but I have a really loud bike, so I can't fault them much for that. It still sounded pretty good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied, but does wear out free heavy use.
I work in an RV factory and have used my plugfones for about a year. I have had some problems, but the company offers a 90 day guaranteed that has covered issues such as sound only coming from one plug. This seems to be an occasional issue as I read the reviews. I have to constantly remove my plug phones throughout the day to hear people talking to me, as a result my plugfones tend to break after about three months of use. The wire begins to break where it protrudes from the plug after approximately three months of use. I often use super glue or epoxy to extend use another month. However, I have no problem buying three sets a year if I can listen to my iPod while I work.
4.0 out of 5 stars Protects Your Ears While Having Tunes
I bought these specifically for the in-line media controller as an upgrade for my last set of Plugfones. They keep your ears from hurting after riding the lawnmower for a few hours, yet you can still listen to your music at a reasonable volume. (Standard in-ear headphones you'd need to have the music loud enough to damage hearing to muffle out the exhaust noise.) My only complaint would be the placement of the buttons. They are close to the plug end of the wire rather than up near the microphone like other headsets I've had. Also, I believe the buttons should be spaced out a bit for my application. Trying to use them while wearing gloves, you'll bump an adjacent button more than once. There's a minus (volume down), a plus (volume up), and a circle. The circle, press once for play/pause. Press twice in succession for next track. Press three times in succession to repeat current track. (Or three times, and then immediately again three times to go to previous track.) Trying to double-tap for next song while bouncing down the lawn, I usually nudge volume up or down at least once.
I have two motorcycle helmets, a Nolan N104 and a Schuberth C3 pro. I use a Sena 20s on both, the Nolan was so damn loud at 70mph, I could barely hear anything. The C3pro is quietest helmet made, with Plugphones my Nolan is quieter and I can hear everything at 80mph. I now pulled the speakers out of the C3P and went with plug phones for that helmet as well. When putting them in my ears, I wet the plug phones with my finger and no need to compress them, they slide right in! They Don't have the bass some other earbuds do, but in noisy environments, the price is right and you won't do much better than these.
5.0 out of 5 stars I can mow and listen to a concert on the lowest volume setting.
I have tried other brands, these work and stay in my ears. In addition, I can hear the music very good even on the lowest volume level and still hear changes with my mower engine and deck. While headsets would probably do okay, in the south Texas sun, they would get sweaty and I might not be able to wear my large brim hat. Regardless, I have learned the best way to extend the life of any ear plugs is too clean your ears before use.
5.0 out of 5 stars If you have restless nights or insomnia, BUY THESE NOW!!!!
I originally purchased these for the same reasons as most....to listen to music at work without getting caught because the look like earplugs! 😂 But after struggling with insomnia, I've used white noise to help me sleep for years. Needless to say, that also included waking up with sore ears from traditional earbuds. So one night, I decided to try these bad boys out and I have NO complaints at all! The noise reduction is perfect to cancel out hubby's roaring snore and also keeps me from damaging eardrum from having it too loud! Not to mention the oooh soooo comfy design! I ordered a second pair in case these break.....just so I would b able to sleep before waiting on the replacement to come in the mail!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love the headphones wish the battery life was longer
Love the headphones wished the battery life was more . Usually have to recharge during my 10 in half shift.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but....
The plugfones have an excellent sound quality. The only issue I have is that I wish the range was a little further.
5.0 out of 5 stars I like them
I don't have them playing for the entire12 hour shift but I do have them on for about 13hours. So far I like the battery life. The sound quality isn't as good as a regular pair of earbuds but not as bad as a cheap set of headphones from the 24hr discount store. The noise cancelling part works just can't hear people talking in the noisy parts of the plant. They aren't quite as comfortable as my regular ear buds or ear plugs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work headphones
Honestly I like it, it's strictly focus for work, volume is limited for a reason. If I want it louder, I have other ones I would use. It blocks noise like 80% which is good for me at work. These ones sounded like a record player, which is more clearer than digital player. It's more defined, enough Highs, mids are pretty clear, bass is enough for work. No trouble on pairing, battery is pretty good so far, I did 2x10 hours shift before I get the low battery warning. Ive shortened or coiled the cord to my needs by tapping the excess wires. It doesn't get in my way. Will update when battery performance decreased. At first youll feel pressure in the external auditory canal, but ill forget its in there when busy with work, It does get slippery inside the ears after a while but it doesn't fall out, I had to take it out slowly or it will give that pop noise, which would be bad if it's daily, slowly works better. Still doing more research to understand it better for me. I just think of it as if it was a torque ranch with 200lbs strength, can't use it on a 10lbs nut, it would snap it. Strictly for work. I don't know why these sounded better than the Freereign ones, it more clear, but overall both is good for me at work. Since I have 2, battery isn't daily concern....yet. will update later.
4.0 out of 5 stars Work as advertised, as long as you don't have smaller ear canals.
They work, but are a little too fat to fit comfortably in my small ear canals. I wear the small size tips on other earbuds. If you wear medium or large you'll be fine.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love them
They last me all day at work even in the heat they have a nice bass they cancel out sounds extremely well they charge fast I wish it was a c type charger tho
4.0 out of 5 stars Earplug headphones
Love that they work well at my job. Only thing I don’t like about them is they catch on things. So have to tuck under shirt.
Extremely happy with these. I'm using them with my cardo com system and they fit like a glove while wearing a helmet. The sound quality is very impressive. Only thing I regret is not ordering them sooner.
4.0 out of 5 stars Four Stars
They don't block outside noise as much as I was hoping the would. 9/8/16 Update: I just wanted to say that I have found using the silicone covers provide a little more noise cancelling than I first thought. However, I have to really push them into the ear canal to achieve the tight fit necessary for maximum noise blocking. I find the silicone covers to be more comfortable than the foam covers as well. If you aren't comfortable really shoving these things into your ear canal, you might not achieve the seal needed to block outside noise. I still hear outside noise (TV in the next room), but it blocks out enough unwanted noise that I can concentrate on what I am listening to. But, be careful with these because they are a little delicate. The wires are thin and you don't want to pull them out by the wires. Grab the earphone itself for removal.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it. If you want music at work, do it
So i read some of the review's befor buying, some people seem to think that they are buying something with the quality of 200 dollar ear buds and compare them to that price point? Are they beats? No. Do they block out sound? Yes! Do they sound like normal earbuds you can pick up for 20 bucks? Yep! Do they work good on the job in a loud environment? Yes! Do they look and feel like ear pulgs?( for those that are trying to hide the fact that your at work with ear buds in) yep! Are they worth the like 19 dollars? Defiantly! Pros: Work good Sound good Look like normal ear plugs Cheap Cons: Arnt Bluetooth - but thats an easy fix with a small Bluetooth receiver.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for under motorcycle helmet. Comfy. Sound is kind so don’t expect high fidelity
Comfortable. Charge fast and the battery lasts a long time. They look like industrial earplugs not music earbuds which is good. No one can tell you are listening to music. The negative is the sound quality is very poor. I had these same headphones I bought several years ago. They still work. And the sound was way better to on the old model. Way better. But these are okay for being able to listen to music vs just plain earplugs. I use them when riding my motorcycle. They are comfortable and perfect for riding.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great value
I really like these headphones. I use them for mowing the lawn, tractor work and some shop work. They keep the outside noise to an appropriate level. Connected easily to my iPhone. Sound quality isn’t what you’d get out of higher end headphones, but out works for audiobooks and music that I listen to. Battery life is ok, outlast a tank of of the mower on 5 acres, and it’s easy to keen charged.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are great. Easy to sleep in and I can listen to music to go to sleep.
These are the best ear phones and also pretty great as ear plugs. Many earbuds don't stay in my ears and they're hard and uncomfortable. These are the only ones that really work for me. I can sleep in them too. It's important to clean them with alcohol after using.
Sound quality i feel could be much better, bass is mediocre and the sound is slightly tinny, takes a little getting used to. Comfortable to wear, long lasting battery, discrete design and good hearing protection. I use these daily in my factory job, they seem fairly durable so far.
Very surprised! They sound great, definitely for the price. Don't expect deep base, but there is some. Very clear and cancels out the noise around you. Low tech that is above a lot of the high tech and costly devices out there. Will update after my next roadtrip on the Harley. Pretty sure I will have good results there too.
I love these things. I listen to music or podcasts all day while I'm at work. If the supervisor sees me, he just thinks I'm wearing earplugs. As other reviews have pointed out, they're not the most durable pair of headphones. My first pair lasted about 3 months and I quickly ordered a new pair. As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to be using these 30-40 hours every week, they're worth every penny even if they do wear out. They make the work day go by faster and help you keep your sanity while doing boring and repetitive tasks. I'm glad they exist. I was actually pondering how I could make a pair of my own before I googled and saw that somebody already makes them. I recommend getting a little bluetooth receiver to stick in your back pocket and running the cord underneath your shirt. Helps keep it discreet, and you can quickly whip out your phone if you want to skip to another track, etc. and not have to worry about being tethered to a line.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for work!
These are great for my workplace. The silicone tips are changeable and washable, fit even my small ear canals with reasonable comfort, and look like standard issue ear plugs. I don't have a particularly aggressive work routine, and mine are still like new even after hours of wear and tear. I drop the cord down my shirt in the back and tuck it around my side, plugged into a Bluetooth receiver (Jumbl) and that's hidden under my clothes. The sound quality is not as good as some higher end earbuds or even my Bluetooth ear muffs, but they beat the sound of my own thoughts in my head and the dull hisses and noises of machinery. I will say that the bass is pretty good for those who like that. I listen largely to documentaries and some of the more quiet speech occasionally gets lost, but I don't think that's any fault of the ear plugs. My only real complaint is the jack is not reinforced/angled like on the purple 1.0 style. I just know I am going to rip the wiring asunder eventually. I'd also personally like to see 'small' size foam or better yet silicone tips for us with tiny ear canals. Standards fit well enough for me, but others might not be so lucky.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work great with motorcycle helmet
Work extremely well. All the benefits of my regular foam earplugs with the addition of Bluetooth. With these I keep the sound at the lowest level, speakers in the same helmet required the volume to be at the highest available setting. Highly recommend
4.0 out of 5 stars Serves it's purpose
After using these for a few days, here are my thoughts. The sound is not amazing, but I knew that from the start by reading other reviews. I work around some fairly loud machinery, so being able to hear my surroundings when I need to is a plus. You have to fiddle with them to get the proper placement as they are just a bit oval in shape, but not much. I also have to put them in pretty far to hear them, depending on what music I'm listening to. The cord should be longer so that the controls and the counterweight will sit about where your breast bone is once you drape them around your neck. As it is, the controls and the weight sit about at my collar bone and sometimes pop out from under my neckline (t-shirt) at times, trying to reveal my secret. I wear one of those elastic face/neck coverings at work, so what I do now is tuck the control and weight inside of that just under my chin. I originally had a set of bluetooth earbuds with a charging case, but the left one died months ago and I just recently lost the right one at work and never found it. I intended to buy another set like that, but most have some kind of flashing light on it when paired or being used, so that won't do. This will work for what you need it for, but at the expense of some minor annoyances like the ones i listed and the need to charge it with a micro usb cable, and the cord of course.
4.0 out of 5 stars Just mids and highs no bass (3.5/5)
As a earbud they are cheap and obviously sound quality was not their main focus. But they are convincing for earplugs and feel much better than the typical earplugs they mimic, they “feel” like they give the same amount of noise isolation. They are great for what they are trying to be but man do i wish they had a little more on the lowend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Work good, battery lasts great
These are great for work. Noise suppression is good and the sound is decent, the noise cancelation isn't as good as advertised according to people I've talked to while using them earbuds.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great combination of sound and ear protection.
The sound quality is much better than I anticipated. Also, I was afraid that these wouldn’t stay in well since I have very small ear holes, but these stay put wonderfully!
These are awesome. If you have a job that requires you to wear ear plugs but you want to listen to music or whatever. This is it. After 6 months in a brutal environment they still work great. The sound quality is not horrible. It lacks bass mostly. Otherwise it's loud enough to hear over loud machines. The battery life is absolutely incredible. Everyday I get 10 straight hours from a charge. If your looking for sound quality then go buy a $200 Bose or Sony headset. If your trying to enjoy yourself while following rules at work then this is it. Highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very discrete, could not be happier with these
These have worked great for a month now, sound quality seems just as good as other standard ear buds. Actually I'd say they're easier to hear(especially in loud environments) because they fit snug in your ear. I work in a plant where earplugs are mandatory and personal listening devices are forbidden, with the cord running down the back of my shirt into my Galaxy S5 in my front pocket no ones the wiser. I wear these working around 15+ automatic table saws and don't even have to turn my phones volume up all the way to listen to siriusxm talk radio(hey now ;)). Regular ear buds would need to be cranked. They seem durable enough so far but I'm here to buy a back up pair just in case. Highly recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
Let me start by saying, I've purchased MANY earbuds over the years and I've hated every one of them. For whatever reason, they've never fit right. They would either fall out or I couldn't hear the music very well because they didn't fit, no matter what I did. Because earbuds would be so convenient, I decided to give these a shot. After all, they're a little different than typical earbuds. I almost can't believe it, they're perfect for me. 1. I prefer the rubber tip over the foam but they're both good. 2. They come with a convenient (small) carrying case. 3. The sound quality is equal to any decent earbud style headphones. In my case it's infinitely better because I can actually use them and hear the music. 4. Since they're made just like normal ear plugs, they do a great job cancelling outside noise. If you like to listen to music while you mow the lawn, these are the headphones for you. I can't speak to their durability as I haven't had them long. If any problems arise I will edit this review. Overall, I seriously couldn't be happier. Even if they don't last long, I'll just buy another pair. They're that perfect for me. The bluetooth version would be even better but I just couldn't spend the 100$ on them. Instead, I use the bluetooth device I plug into the stereo in my truck. Simply plug the headphones into the bluetooth thing (I can't recall the name), and pair to it. There you go, instant bluetooth headphones.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great earplugs/earbuds
I like most that these earbuds are OSHA approved and ANSI certified because I can wear them at work and hear my music safely. They’re comfortable and durable. Two complaints- 1) the volume controls are at the phone end of the wires instead of closer to the user (small issue) and 2) there are only one set each of both types of ear plugs. They get dirty quick and it seems there should be multiples provided for replacement when they get too dirty. Other than those two small issues, these are great quality.
4.0 out of 5 stars Don’t waste your money...sound cuts out shortly after purchase!
I bought these for a Christmas gift and my son-in-law used them at work several times and just recently told me the one side stopped any sound coming out of it. Now, I know I only paid $35 for them but honestly, don’t you think they could have lasted a year? I DONT recommend these at all ....a waste of money! I suggest paying $220 on a set that’s made by a Better company!
5.0 out of 5 stars Item is exactly as described and it is performing flawlessly
I purchased these to serve as dual purpose . I use them to help cancel noise at work as I am a diesel technician by trade and the environments I work on can be extremely noisy and I also use these at the gym . At work they do a really good job at lowering the surrounding noise and it allows me to continually learn as I prefer to listen to training and financial podcasts . They really shine for me at the gym as I can just about drowned out the music that is blaring in the facility . These provide an excellent range of volume and the battery life is better than any other previous pair I have owned ( 4th different ones I've tried ) . Overall I am very happy with this purchase !
5.0 out of 5 stars Motorcycle riders rejoice!
I bought these to replace the speakers on my Cardo Pactalk Slim while riding my motorcycle. Speakers inside your helmet really don’t do well if you have a loud bike or when the speeds get higher. There’s just to much ambient noise inside your helmet. These fit snugly in my ear. They do a good job of blocking out noise but still allow me to hear other riders over the network clearly, listen to music or make a phone call well above legal speeds. I’ve been using them for almost a year now and will never use speakers in my helmet again. The sound quality is so much better.
Work great, would buy again Good sound and block out more outside noise than my protective ear muffs. Core is a bit cumbersome, but just dropping it inside my shirt work.
5.0 out of 5 stars so far so good
Nice quality and replaceable earpieces. Fairly easy to use the small buttons. I only use for listening, but I did try one phone call and that was ok. I ride my motorcycle mostly alone, so these are great to replace my normal earplugs and I can listen to radio or whatever from my phone. And no, they don't prevent you from hearing sirens or your motor etc. Completely safe. I have used them for two multi day road trips, a d I use them when mowing and weed trimming etc, as they work as hearing protection, as long as you use reasonable volumes for your programming. So far after a few months I am still happy with them for my use. They pair easily, and don't drop too often...
5.0 out of 5 stars A godsent!
Have to wear earplugs for work but cant have ear buds because they do not block the sounds earplugs do. But these bridge that gap! And even though they are osha approved, the color is perfect for safety to think they are regular earplugs so you dont have to worry about proving they approved or anything
We have a farm and feedlot operation. My husband needed hearing protection and earbuds. These were literally half the price that the local store wanted but the exact brand and quality. He wears these in the shop to listen to talk radio and while grinding hay. The battery has a long life and so far they have held up to all the dirt and abuse he gives them.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great noise reduction, okay sound quality
Works great to reduce noise. However the sound quality is rather poor. You also really need to crank up the volume to hear anything around noisy or loud equipment.
5.0 out of 5 stars YOU NEED TO BUY THESE EAR PLUGS!
Hearing protection is required at my work. And to have a product that both protects my hearing and provides my personal music is incredible!!! The only reason I gave 3 stars on Durability/Material was because I just received the product today. After work. The test will be tomorrow and then on out. The sound is amazing! For $25! Normally I would expect no low frequencies (bass) from earbuds this small. Ha! Not these bad boys! Excellent tonal range! If your job requires or is aided by hearing protection; this will be the best $25 you'll ever spend!!!!!! Just use common sense when handling these ear plugs! Don't pull from the wires! Either on the plugs themselves or the jack. They'll short eventually! Get your money out of them and rock it out at work!!!😁😁😁
Love em...bought these for work due to all the safety culture, which I fully endorse 🙂 …anyway... these block out 99% of the outside noise in the shop even without any music. With that being said, the sound quality of the music is not the greatest but more than adequate for tunes at work. Also, they're not as loud as the headphones you'd use at home, but with the ambient noise all blocked out, they don't have to be. drop that dime and get em', you wont be disappointed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it, buy these!
Works very well for using as an ear plug. Sound quality is a little to be desired, but truthfully it’s worth the sacrifice. Battery longevity is amazing. Have never run out of battery life yet, even using for 9 hours almost steadily. Having a dual weight distribution keeps them centered all day. I have already purchased multiple pairs just in case! Definitely a must buy if you need earplugs and want music/podcasts/books while you work. Works very well for phone calls also. Have used with helmet on a motorcycle and also work well. Enjoy them!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Employer doesn’t allow employees to wear headphones these are great for people who need music and need to wear earplugs last about 8 hours. Ordered 2 pair. Kinda hard to clean but other then that absolutely awesome
5.0 out of 5 stars My husband's favorite
Husband works in a factory and uses these daily! It's been a year now and they still work great 👍
5.0 out of 5 stars They work…..and they look like ear plugs!
In construction they don’t want you to listen to music on headphones or out loud half of the time. But if your headphones look like ear plugs…… ya they are great. Now I just want some that look like the push in ear plugs without the cord and I will be in heaven. Sound quality was ok but that’s fine there is a concrete saw in the background too. They are perfectly comfortable and legitimately cancel a ton of sound like legit ear plugs. Price is a little high but they market demand is kinda niche so I get it. Overall I’m 100% satisfied
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Product
These are great. I use them while mowing. They successfully block/lessen the noise of the mower and allow me to listen to my music at a lower, more comfortable volume. The foam and the silicone tips are very comfortable. The pairing process is easy and the controls are easy to use as well. I also find the molded neck piece is very comfortable. It keeps the wire out of the way and in place. Thanks for making a great product, truly worth the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Ordered these for my husband and he likes them. He says they are extremely noise canceling and he only hears what’s coming through the headphones.
4.0 out of 5 stars they didn't start out with the greatest quality in general overall
I am someone who has bought multiple pairs of these, due to wear & tear over the course of a few years I've known of this product. And at that, multiple pairs of the different styles this company offers. I can honestly say, they didn't start out with the greatest quality in general overall. But over the years they have improved here or there. Whether it be the sound quality or their durability. Now I'm going to say, not every plug phone set made by this company is created equal, & that includes sets of the same style. I have ordered a pair, & straight out of the box, one of the plugs didn't have sound(was defective) this has happened 3 times. 2/3 was with the orange foam pair, the otber I have experience with 3 different styled pairs, and they each have their own pros and cons. I would also like to add that I have noticed that the company making these have continued to improve them over time in some way, please keep this in mind. The sets i have experience with are the yellow rubber ones, the yellow floam ones, and the orange foam ones. The yellow rubber ones seem to be the most delicate with pulling and pushing into the ear canal. Handle these with care. I have enjoyed the sound of these the most. I also found they are the most comfortable. The cord for this pair is shorter than the other 2 of not equal to the length of the yellow foam style. The thing most common to stop working is the sound in one lf the ear pieces due to the cord being delicate as well. Size wise would refer this style to most of the population as they are also the most flexible ear pieces. The yellow foam style have lasted me the longest between the 3. This set has the best balance between size, comfort, sound, and durability between the other 2 previously mentioned. The cord is the same length as the yellow rubber set. But the cord is of a plastic material that doesn't catch as easily on clothes. The orange foam pair are a bit larger in size than the other 2, yes even when squishing the foam down. I recommend these for people who have a slightly larger ear canal. The comfort for me b/c, they were a bigger size only, was uncomfortable. This pair seems to have been the most durable, unless you were unlucky enough to get a pair with one defective ear piece. The sound on these i find aren't as good as the other 2, but for me that could've been b/c theu didn't fit properly. This set has the longest cord of the 3 & it is made out of a common shiny plastic material that doesn't catch on anything, except if you're sweating, it may catch against your skin then. I don't recall the yellow rubber set coming with extra covers, but that's a bit fuzzy and i may be wrong. The 2 foam sets do most definitely come with extra foam pieces to change out of. The foam ones do dirty a bit faster. I sadly haven't exactly had a 100% success rate at changing out the ear pieces. It ks not recommended. If you can ride out the pair until you may need a new one, it's easier to just do that. Now as for the part of the cord that plugs into your audio device. This has changed and varied in quality & appearance over time. I have had sets where this part of the cord went and either stopped working all together or only worked by bending it a certain way. As stated above not all sets/and styles are madr equally. And this wear and tear could happen on any set/style.
4.0 out of 5 stars LOVE EM
Absolutely love these. I where every day for almost 2 years now in a fab shop where headphones are not welcome. I do miss the old foam contractor orange replacements though. I am on my 3rd set so they do where out. However I use these at least 5 days/week 7 hours each day so they take a beating. I will continues to buy this product. Don’t know what I’d do without them
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for what they are, get the guardian series.
Great for what they are, they don't have the best sound quality to me, but work great for what they are intended for. Edit 5/21/2018. The guardian series if very nice spend the extra 5 dollars. The problem I have is they have not lasted more than 3 months. I thought it was from unplugging and plugging in, but I got a Bluetooth receiver and havent unplugged it since. But less than 3 months they just stopped on one side. 1/2020, I got my last pair in July of last year, still love the Guardian sets. Only thing I can think of, maybe thicker connections? But honestly I don't mind 6 months life span because that's the only reason I can tolerate my job... Thanks!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars!
Great sound quality and superb hearing protection. Its just like having earplugs in, and then you can have music or podcasts on while you work.
These are perfect to block out machinery noise and still allow you to enjoy music. Are they Bose quality? No however they are the only plugs I’ve found to shut out tractor noise and allow listening to music without the bulk or heat of a headphone set. Allows me to wear a hat to shade from the sun.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Well
This product did as advertised. Works well to subside heavy noises and allow for easy music listening. Used during my time working construction.
5.0 out of 5 stars ... have an alternative to my 3M WorkTunes which are great until you want to listen to your phone or ...
I bought these hoping to have an alternative to my 3M WorkTunes which are great until you want to listen to your phone or its hot out - seriously who likes ear muffs when its hot. Anyways I have only owned these a week but they have far exceeded my expectations. Thus far I have cut, split and stacked 3 cord of wood while wearing these - I could hear both the chainsaw and the gas powered log splitter but they blocked out the majority of the machine noise and left me to pure Pandora - which sounded better than I expected. After the wood fiasco I spent three days sanding and prepping for stain a wood floor while wearing these - again I could hear the machines but they allowed me to listen to music when it otherwise would have required my ear muffs - I squeezed in a couple of podcasts as well which were audible and understandable over the machine noise. Finally tonight I mowed the grass while wearing these, a welcome relief to cooking my ears in the ear muffs - I was able to enjoy my music over the sounds of my mower which is quite loud. The only improvements I see at this point would be another six inches of cord and some sort of clip to attach to my shirt collar - I managed to rip the out of my ears several times when they were caught on something else. Finally DO NOT BUY the yellow, dirty hands make them look gross.
I ride a motorcycle with very loud exhaust, these plugphones 2.0 works great, noise level is down, and i can hear the music with clarity.
4.0 out of 5 stars Work great. You have to push them into your ear ...
Have been using these in an industrial, loud, setting for over 7 months now. Work great. You have to push them into your ear pretty good to get a good seal and also brings better sound quality. Only con is after awhile, the main center piece starts to pull out of the replaceable inserts easier. Need better barbs on the center piece. Otherwise, realistic noise protection is more like 19-20. Still way better than no music all day!
I bought my pkugfones liberate for use on a motorcycle. I have a $600 helmet with a $300 Bluetooth system but I had to have the volume up too high. With the plugfones I can get more sound with less decibels blasting thru my ears. Plus the bass and overall quality is better than my Sena Bluetooth and AirPod Pro. These are definitely worth the $$.
I've had a wired pair of these before and I loved them.. Now that I have an mp3 player with Bluetooth I got these and they are just as good as the other ones if not better
Love these for any situation. Yard work, Shop work, relaxing. They dont fall out, durable, light weight.
This is my second pair in 3 years. I had to replace my first pair only after I ripped the cable from the earplug, but that was my mistake and I have to admit it took quite a bit of effort to break them. I use these when I ride my Harley. Works well with a full face helmet. I use the silicone plug and it cuts out almost all wind noise and a lot of the exhaust notes, even without playing music. I'm trying to save whatever hearing I have left after 25 years on a bike, so I usually have the music on fairly low - just a 2 volume clicks above where I would listen in a quiet room and it's clear enough to hear lyrics. Downside is I can't really hear cars around me, but I've accepted with that. Only con I have is that there is no volume/music controller on this version, and the Liberate 2.0 has the controller too close to the plug end for it to be useful for me on a bike.
5.0 out of 5 stars great for factory work
I bought these for my father who works in a metal fabrication factory. (he is still very new to technology but is coming along) I recently got him a ipod so he could listen to his music at our campground(Bluetooth speaker) and then he wanted to be able to listen at work but comply with OSHA. We look around and did not feel comfortable spending $80+ on headphones and they all seemed to have mixed reviews anyways. I got these for him for his birthday and he is in LOVE with them. First pair lasted about 1 year before he got the cord snagged on something and it ripped the cord from the ear bud, he requested to have the same pair as he loved them and work perfect for his environment, he liked trying both types of ear buds that came with it but the foam ones got very dirty very quickly and he prefers the silicone. we love the fact we can replace the silicone part as needed (anyone who works in a metal factory knows its dirty in there) The carry case that comes with them is very nice/sturdy and he likes that he has "storage" for them. Overall these are just awesome and give him freedom to listen to his music anywhere he wants to now! Highly recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT headphones for riders
Up until now, I've been using regular earbud type headphones to listen to music while I ride. I figured that they were fine for blocking out a lot of the wind/road noise from riding. After using these Plugfones, I realized how wrong I was. It's almost a night and day difference with these. They block out a LOT of the wind and road noise that the earplugs I've used previously just did not. I've noticed that I don't need to crank up the volume as loud to hear my music now either. They fit really well and are very comfortable. These are my dedicated headphones for riding when I want to listen to music or get GPS through my phone. The only drawback on these is that there is no microphone or inline volume controls. That's not a big deal really, as long as you expect it. Highly recommend these for riders. For the record, my combo is: '16 XSR900 with full exhaust and HJC RPHA 11 Pro helmet
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than most
I am a GEneral Contractor and need the ability to have hands free conversations and block out job site noise. These do a great job. This is my 2nd set first one lasted about a year of everyday use which is better than most bluetooth devices in a harsh environment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and works well
Used for the first time on a noisy factory floor. Kept the sound to a reasonable level and allowed me to hear notifications and voice messages.
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable
Works like a charm. Great sound. Use around loud noises.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly discreet
These headphones are great, the sound quality is great, it blocks out most noise but still allows you to hear things around you and the battery life is from 8.5-9 hrs. They are discreet in design as they resemble safety ear plugs. I have tried many different Bluetooth headphones and these I highly recommend. Make sure to use the included clip because they will tend to pull down if you don't.
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
These are great wired ear buds. Only thing be nice heavier wire to the buds. Good clear sound. Look just like ear plugs.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good sound but bad noise canceling
The sound is pretty good but they don't keep outside sounds out. That's the only improvement I can see.
If you're buying these for super great fidelity, you don't understand what you really want here. These are so you can listen to music while you do loud stuff, like riding a motorcycle on the highway. And they work superbly for that. But if you're thinking you'll replace a good quality set of earbuds with these, no. They're a little muddy in the sound quality department. But they do exactly what I want - give me a nice, low-volume music option while protecting my hearing from external noise.
4.0 out of 5 stars They work well as intended
Got these for work, music sounds like trash thru these but audiobooks and podcasts sound great. That's what I wanted them for anyway. They last about 10 hours before they need to be charged. I work in a very loud environment and these do actually reduce the noise very well. I recommend these but just realize if music is your reason they will severely disappoint you, but voice like audible and podcasts sound great.
4.0 out of 5 stars good but not great
I bought these so I could listen to music, etc. while shredding, plowing, and planting. They keep out enough sound to allow that while the tractor is idling, but once I crank up and go the tractor noise increases to the point that I would have to BLAST the music to hear it and I don't want to blow out my hearing. I'm going to try wearing earmuffs over these and see if that works. I would say for the use I intended, these are good but not great.
First off, dump the foam sleeve...useless. I wear these when I want to listen to music from my iPod or phone while riding my motorcycle. I have been wearing foam type earplugs while riding for over 30 years and searched for a while for a set of ear buds that would allow me to listen to music, reduce external noise, and stay in my ears under a helmet, and not cost me the proverbial appendage. These do the trick. Not as good at reducing ambient sound as plain foam types, but enough so that I can still hear the music without turning it up too loud and defeating the whole purpose of ear protection =) My only complaint is that it would be nice to have the cable coming out of the plugs at an angle, but it's not really an issue for me. I have -sold- these to several riding buddies that were previously using regular ear buds...including my girlfriend who was really happy with the improvement over her standard iPod buds. Been now using them for over five years, same pair, and showing some wear and tear so ordering another set (the gray ones). One piece of advice: the flanged silicone parts can get stuck in your ear and may need tweezers to be removed. Put a drop of cyano adhesive at the base where they insert over the plastic.
I work in a cabinetry plant this isn’t quite as good as the earplugs they provide but they’re the next best thing better since they have music. I will say the first version I had sounded better but had less battery life. Comparing old to new I did prefer things about the old one that the this model doesn’t have. For instance the old model would tell you your battery level when you turned them on also would notify you more then once before shutdown. Overall if you work for nazis that don’t like music these are a solid fix to that issue just color in the blinker!!
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!! but get the insurance...
Have been using these for YEARS at work ever since I found out about them. They are better hearing protection than the ones my company provides! (the foam tips are better; silicone tips are the same/slightly less than my work ones, but still very safe) Sound is quality. Not going to get amazing bass, but they have a good enough 'bump' to them, and are very clear to hear. Durability is quality (for me at least) I use them 8-12hrs, 6-7days a week in a warehouse environment and they have held up just fine for me. (but I am also sorta ocd about keeping my equipment in good condition, so your experience may vary) Battery lasts right around 12hrs on a full charge. Battery life also determines on what you're using them for; If you use them to talk on the phone for a long period of time, the battery drains faster than if you just use them to listen to music/etc. But the plus is they are fairly quick charging. If I know the battery isn't full and I have to work a 12hr unexpectedly, I can throw them on the charger for 10mins or so and they will last the rest of my shift just fine. I know it probably goes against everything you've ever been told when buying electronics, but I recommend getting the Asurion insurance it offers when you purchase them. I've been using these for years, 6-7days a week for the past 5 or so years, and every pair I've bought only lasted right around a year, year and a half before something internally went wrong with them. Whether it be one of the earpieces stops working, or the microphone stops working, its always something right around the same time after purchase. But the Asurion insurance makes it very easy to make a claim, turn them in, get reimbursed and buy a new pair. basically you're getting your next pair for only 8bucks with the insurance. Not a bad deal for a bit of a failsafe. Hopefully your pair wont, but just in case.
I always preferred Plugfones to other brands. However, I tried a competitor's completely wire free earbuds and didn't like them at all. Plugfones seem to have the best fit. And I think the sound quality is really good for the price.
They're very comfortable, and have perfect sound quality. Great for using on a motorcycle, or at work on a construction site. I had my last pair for almost three years with regular use! Unfortunately I found out they don't like washing machines, so don't let that happen. The only real damage on that pair, as far as I could tell, is that the wires got loose going into the jack so it just made a poor connection. I've had my second pair for quite awhile. They work great, and I even caught them on a clip of a drill which tore the insulation. Little bit of tape to fix that, but they never quit working.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good sound. Not very durable.
The sound quality is good considering the cost of these. I tend to snag these a lot so they'd short out at the connect point. Could be a little more durable. These are very comfortable to wear. I use them at work for an average of 6-8hrs a day. Also nice that a additional set of replacement ear buds come with the package.
4.0 out of 5 stars They would be great for flights
I wanted to use them on my riding lawnmower, listening to podcast. They do cut out a lot of background noise but not enough to block the riding mower. They would be great for flights, or as a passenger in a car. Happy to have them and will use them on other projects.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
They work like magic, and they last the full 10 hours plus a little more and the noise canceling is pretty good, not as good as my AirPods but they work just as good for the price. I work nights, 12 hour shift and even when they die I just use them as ear plugs so I don’t have to hear the machines or pallets being dropped.
5.0 out of 5 stars They sound good in a noisy environment
I feel for the price they wear out fast I’m in my 4th pair
5.0 out of 5 stars Love these!!!
I never liked headphones before. My ear holes were too small or something. These are such a blessing for work, as I'm running errands, or even while I garden! I get to create my own little vibe without encroaching on anyone else's ears lol. Gratzy
4.0 out of 5 stars life/work changing, but I have one BIG issue
I love these ear plug headphones. However, this is my third pair in a year and a half. I wear them everyday so I get a lot of use, but paying $30 roughly every 6 months is getting old. These earplugs allow me to listen to audiobooks, music, and even TV at work. With amazon prime you can download shows directly to your phone so you can watch them offline later. I have watched HOURS and HOURS of TV with these earplugs. Well mostly listen, but some watching. I bought a Bluetooth receiver and run the plugfone wires down my back inside my shirt with it plugged into my Bluetooth receiver and the receiver in my back pocket so everything is hidden from everyone else. I am an aircraft sheet metal mechanic( I repair airplanes). I actually work harder because I am not goofing off somewhere else and I can work while I listen and glance over at the phone. That's what I enjoy about them but there are some issues I have with them as well. The earplug portion of the plugs are fairly decent at blocking the sound but they are not quite as good as real earplugs. Since the plastic speaker goes deep into the foam, as it must, it makes it difficult to push deep into your ear. My biggest problem with them though would be that I am having to buy new ones every 6 months because one side will short out and quit working or worse start working intermediately. That's a lot of money on earplugs! Like I said though I wear them a lot, 5 days a week, 8 hours or more a day. You have to decide if it is worth it for you. Other than that they sound great and are plenty loud for my shop which can get very loud!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea that works, bad replacement plug design
I purchased two kinds here in amazon but I can only see the wired one. These are really great. I have the wireless ones as well. I get about 8 hours on them. The company started out great with the foam plugs but have continued to change the design. Every design change they made to the foam plugs they claim is better NRR rating but I don’t think so. The originals they went for a bell shape, then a twist rocket shape to the, current tiny stepped shape. I believe the only ones that are any good are the bell shape that they no longer make. The bell shape is the only style that fits my ears and provides the best protection. I don’t believe the other designs are any good. I get major sound leakage around the edge of my ear canals because I guess they are too small for proper snug fit. My ear canal is too big for them. So I’ll still use them as long as I have the bell shape plugs. But once those are gone I’ll stop using them. Sad really, best ear plugs for my job but we’re ruined by constant design changes to make more money.
4.0 out of 5 stars More discreet than the expensive version of these but less battery 10 hrs
I like the price compared to the pro version but the comfort isint as good as the high end version that I previously bought .. I own the 120 $ pair and these but the expensive versions more comfy in the ear but the lil battery thing on the side of the expensive ones is more noticable then the PC basic pro version and at work i dont like that, so I bought these because they dont have that and it is alot more discreet but the battery life is shorter (10 hrs ) and you cant replace the ear plug/buds so ya have to clean the yit outta them but also they feel weirder in my ears. I like these but I feel like they should add the feature where you can replace the ear bud part or I'd give a 5 star for the discreet aspect of these... my boss had no idea they weren't ear buds
4.0 out of 5 stars It's in my ear
the noise reduction was very good, the fit was good and the sound was also very good, buy after about 3 or 4 applications when I tried to remove them the right ear foam piece stayed in my ear and had to be removed by someone else because I couldn't get a grip on it. They should have lasted longer than that.
4.0 out of 5 stars 3 or 4 stars - get what you pay for:
These aren't for the audiophile but work well for a guy who wants some light hearing protection with tunes. Outside in the wind I seem to get a whistle which is annoying and in the blower room thy aren't quite enough protection (but I can hear the music decent). I guess the do what I want relatively well tfor the price I paid.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
Great ear plugs/buds. Not extremely loud but has awesome sound quality and bass. These don't need to be loud though due to noise cancelation. Without music playing, it'll be like having standard ear plugs in, with music, you won't hear any outside noise coming through. Very comfortable and very long cord .
5.0 out of 5 stars LOOKS LIKE HEARING PROTECTION
If i could give this product 6 stars I would. The volume can go so high it HURTS, far louder than any of my other earbuds. They do work as normal ear plugs without music playing. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the buttons and battery are far enough down the wire i can easily hide them in my T-shirt! My supervisor can suck a ****!
5.0 out of 5 stars great for motorcycle
I have been using disposable earplugs and wanted to listen to music on my motorcycle. These cancel the engine and wind noise better than my old earplugs. Between songs, it's strangely silent. With music playing, all I hear is the music and it's like I'm floating down the road. Literally no other noise can be heard. I think it's excellent, and I really love these! I think you have to make sure you're using your eyes and being attentive, because you really won't hear anything with them on. **UPDATE** After 3 days, one of the plugs stopped working. I still use it as an earplug and only get music from the one working plug. The one that works it still going after a month of daily use. I got a different motorcycle, an sv1000 with dual yoshi exhaust, it's much louder and these don't block it out but they help. **NOTE** I also learned that it is illegal to be driving with these in your ears in my state. All forms of headphones are illegal while driving. So I've been enjoying the fact that one of the plugs is broken, so that I can still hear what's happening in one ear. It's probably safer, but still just as illegal.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and works!
Best Buy for the money hands down. Use these for mowing on the tractor. I’ve tried head phones but with sun glasses and a hat it just don’t work, not to mention my ears melt from the heat and sweat. They work just as good as a set of 400.00 head phones without the side effects. If a tree branch rips them off and you ruin them - no biggie! For 20 bucks get another pair! You’ll cry for a week doin that to a set of Bose!
5.0 out of 5 stars Incognito Mode
Use the headphones everyday with the battery tucked under my tee shirt and the little clip attached to the back of my collar. Nobody has even asked about them because they look and are legit safety rated earplugs...it just so happens these have a little secret lol. Best part, you can pack them deep into the ear and seal out most sound or wear them a little lighter and still hear what's going on around you. Makes my 8/9 hour shift fly by a little easier when I'm listening to stuff. Now at first, I thought it might be distracting but it actually helped my work because I'm focused better. Even if I pause the media they are still solid little earplugs. Battery lasts the whole shift. Your phone may die before these do. Highly recommend if you want to drown out annoying coworkers. 5 star imo. Game changer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product
Silences the sound around you very well so you can hear your tunes. Able to be heard at 160mph on motorcycle.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good sound and stealthy
Sound is good, they don't cancel out the sound as good as a normal ear plug, but they will help cut down on shop noise. My personal experience is to buy a Bluetooth receiver on Amazon for $10 and plug the ear buds into it. They are stealthy and do not have all the extra addons so they look like legit chorded ear plugs.
4.0 out of 5 stars Sound great but.....
Headphones work great. Much better sound than the older versions. I'm a welder/pipe fitter and unfortunately I have to do a lot of grinding at my current job. Even when using a 7 inch grinder I can still hear the music but get the benefits of the -25 decibels that the plugs provide. The reason for the four star instead of a five star rating is they could have made the plug that connects your device a little more sturdy. The sheath that covers the 90 degree angled plug was not glued the the wire. I think that this might have mad one side fail. This really needs to be addressed. But for now it's the only way I can listen with headphones at work because headphones are not allowed 😉
5.0 out of 5 stars A must if u work in a shop or jobsite! Read my review for different versions & more...
This's my 3rd pare of plugfones in the past 6 or 7 years as i abuse the hell out of them at work as a welder. They work fantastic for several reasons. One if your like me and are not allowed to wear headphones at work & work in a place where earplugs are common then these r the only way to go! They have several styles that match several different versions of the 3m brand earplugs (which are the best) so you blend right in at work as the shape, size, and color is a perfect match. It is nice because unlike regular headphones/earphones Plugfones also work how they look, as actual earplugs. Which is obviously good for safety reasons but is also great because u can hear your music better using these on a loud jobsite because they actually keep out the surrounding noise as earplugs are designed to do unlike regular headphones/earphones where u have to crank the music louder to drown out the background noise. In all honesty they obviously don't sound as good as a pair of Bose earphones or whatever but alot of that is also because they are actual earplugs so the sound is literally going through a small 1/16" hole. So no matter how fantastic the mini speakers are made they can never sound as good coming through a very tiny hole. Don't get me wrong as they definitely sound good but they are designed for the reasons I listened above. They are an excellent safety version of headphones and they are ideal for anyone that works in a shop or a jobsite. This was my 1st time buying this exact version as these ones have the built in mic with volume controls right on he cord so it can be used to talk on the phone similar to the ones that come with most good phones now. This kind also has replaceable plugs themselves (the actual earplug piece) so u can replace them as they get real dirty, which is definitely worth the extra money compared to the standard version. If you're considering buying some of these but don't wanna spend the money to get these u can also buy what I originally bought my other 2 times which is the basic version. The basic version has no mic, no volume control buttons, and the ear pieces aren't replaceable. So if u do dirty work like me as a welder then they really need to be cleaned at the end of each day otherwise they get pretty nasty, as I'm sure they would eventually anyhow just from ear crud! While it's obviously not as nice to have to take better care of them due to the ear piece not being replaceable, it is a cheaper version so u can decide how much u really wanna spend on them. Because they do have even better versions still! As of a year or so ago they now also have a Bluetooth version which is just awesome! Those ones are obviously more expensive since they're Bluetooth but are really cool for sure! Those ones just have the connecting cord that goes behind your neck so they look even more like regular earplugs since u don't have the wire dangling down to your phone anymore, which kinda makes it obviously they aren't regular earplugs. If u do get one of the corded versions what I do is I run the cord down inside the back of my shirt so that the cord going into my phone isn't visible to all my bosses (only because we're not allowed to use headphones at my work). I personally prefer the 3m style yellow silicone version with the blue cord as that's what's most common at my work, plus they're really comfortable. But my work carries several types and colors of the 3m corded earplugs and Plugfones actually makes a version to match them all, and they carry whichever u prefer whether the silicone or the foam versions. So these things are definitely worth getting! 👍👍👍
4.0 out of 5 stars They stay in when you put your helmet on.
Great, I use it on the motorbike. The cords are a little too long for me.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
These are nice. They're not made any better than a normal pair of headphones. Where I work these are no issue. Not very discreet, they have a black Mic Box (dumb). The foam tips didnt work at all. You really gotta work them in, might hurt a little but it's worth it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice
I have used wired Plugphones for years and really like the sound for the compact fit. I use them inside a motorcycle helmet. The plugs reduce the ambient sound so well that I typically play music at the lowest volume. I got these wireless ones for use in the yard. Tested them out and sound is as good as the wired ones. The battery and controls parts that are attached via the cord are noticeable when compared to wires only. I did notice some interference from the electric leaf blower I was using. It is a pretty powerful blower with variable speed. I would think these would work great for any outdoor work. I will experiment with how I locate the cord around my neck to see about minimizing any interference.
5.0 out of 5 stars They're Even Better Than Before
I ordered these a year ago and they were fantastic. They lasted 12 hour shifts at work and were great for noise cancellatiom. Ordering a new pair now, they've only gotten better since my last purchase a year ago. The foam tips were improved and it came with this rubber channel to keep them around your neck which wasn't a thing when I ordered before. Mine were always loose and I needed something else to keep them from falling off my neck. I don't quite remember but it feels like they also included more rubber tips this time around too which I was always preferential to. I would always recommend them before but I didn't know about the new changes until now.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it
Very convincing as ear plugs where ear buds aren't allowed. I wish the cord was about 6 inches longer but it works.
4.0 out of 5 stars They are easy to sleep in
They aren't as good as some other earphones, but they have a long battery life.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good swap look-a-like ear plug and machine wash and drying is ok
Good swap look-a-like ear plug. Walk around a factory where we cannot wear ear buds but must have a ear plug that is OSHA approved. These gave been noticed by some and I have been reported, but o believe that is my fault for turning them off and on walking out the door at end of shift. Great sound quality and does a better job of canceling out noise than that of their counter part without the ear bud speakers!!! I've been using them for a year and have left them in my work jeans twice in the washer and dry and they work just as well as before.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good Sound and look and feel for the money
These are overall great sound and comfort for the money. I have owned several sets. The durability was the main issue. One speaker would just stop working. The last couple pair seem to do much better.
4.0 out of 5 stars Bought August 18, 2018 / Dead January 22, 2021
Are these good headphones? Yes. But I believe they're not completely worth the price. Pretty sure I spent $100 at the time. Sound quality is actually pretty good. Sometimes it appears to be bad but you have to perfectly get it in your ear to get the full range of sound. Constant notification about low battery is annoying. I don't know why that's common. Unnecessary Battery life fell over the course of me owning these which was only 2.25 years. I work a 10 hour shift. At first it would easily have enough power but after a while it would last only about 7 hours before low battery. Finally, it died only 2.25 years after purchase. That's not a long enough life. What I mean by it died is both sound channels stopped working. The headset will "turn on" indicated by the light. But no sound can be heard. The left and first and the right went out 2 weeks later. Shame, think I'll get the plug in ones this time.
5.0 out of 5 stars work even after being washed
this comes with 2 pair, one charging case, different ear fit pieces (triple layer are the best) they took a minute to get used to. you can volume up and down in them and voice control your phone, skip songs, answer calls all that. they each have a touch button on the exterior built into the earpiece so doesn't take up extra room. get loud and block out a lot of noise depending on the inner ear piece you're wearing (I only use the big one) mowed the lawn wearing them, put them in my pocket, forgot and washed my shorts! I sat them on the hood of my car to dry and they still work perfect!! nice to have 2 pair and they hook up separately so they can be used at the same time by different or same device. (only some devices support 2 headphones hooked up at once) HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! GREAT HEADPHONES! SUPER TOUGH!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality
I had bought the plugfones guardian ear buds at a local hardware store and loved them. One side stopped working after about 9 months and I bought another pair and one side went out after about 9 months. Then I bought the basic ones because I never use the foam plugs just the silicone plugs and it was cheaper. The sound quality is good but not as good as the guardians but they have lasted over a year and are still going strong.
I bought these in May 2016. I've used them under a motorcycle helmet and they worked well, though they got pulled out of my ears when taking off the helmet. I wear them while mowing or edging the lawn, though again, sometimes they get caught and ripped out of my ears. I keep them wrapped up in my purse with no bag and pretty often the buds come off the wire. I've also used them underneath ear-muffs while wood working. I've found that "bed phones" work far better for this because they're flat and bluetooth. Now, one of the ears has stopped transmitting sound unless I hold the wire in a very specific way. I was just going to switch to regular headphones because I use bedphones for most everything now (and they're bluetooth). But when I remembered that I use them for lawn work, there's not really another option. I'll search for a bluetooth version of these in the spring.
5.0 out of 5 stars READ BEFORE BUYING/RETURNING
I almost gave this product one star, until I figured out how they work… there are no instructions that come with this product. You might be saying, “why do you need instructions for earplugs?“. This is why… When you open the box, it has the cord which goes around your neck, and the 2 sets of ear plugs are separate and come in little plastic bags. There are two types, one is for full protection, and one is for partial protection. If you want to know which ones do what, just look at picture on the cover of the box. Easy enough… Now for the warning… I own a tree removal company and I am around very loud noises all day, so I bought these because I liked the idea of the attached cord to secure the earplugs so I could easily take them in and out without having to screw around with holding them or putting them in my pocket all the time when not in use. So I bought these specifically for the full protection set since I am around pretty extreme amounts of noise. When I went to put the plugs into the cord they were slipping in and out so easily that they were completely ineffective, and offered almost no sound protection. So as I was putting them back in the box to return them, I decided to try out the partial protection earplugs to see if those worked better. They did, and this is why…. What they don’t tell you, since they don’t provide instructions, is that there is another piece besides the plugs and the cord which secures the plugs to the cord and offers most of the sound protection. When you open the box, this piece has been pre-installed into the partial protection plugs, but not the full protection plugs. Once I figure this out and pulled the partial protection plugs off of this piece and installed the full protection plugs, they worked great. I love them. That being said, all of this could’ve been solved with a simple paper insert explaining this. Since the plugs are so good, I don’t want to give them anything less than five stars, so that’s why I am writing instructions on their behalf… I hope they read this review and start putting instructions in the box, otherwise they are going to get about half of their products returned if people happen to try the full protection plugs first. Perhaps they just forgot to put the instructions in my box, and that’s certainly possible, but just in case they all come like this, I hope this review helps.
When I first got these I was not impressed with the sound. It sounded kind of muffled and not very loud but after looking at them I noticed that the speaker was partially blocked by the ear plugs part. The end of the speaker was about 1/8" from the end of the ear plugs and it would close up on the speaker when in use Trimmed the back of the ear plugs to allow the speaker to sit further in to the ear plugs and now the sound great. Would of given 5 stars but I had to do the work that should be done before I got them. You know I had to earn my gold star for the day too.
I have small ear canals, which makes finding anything to cancel noise or for music hard! These earplugs are fantastic. They block loud sounds so they’re perfect for the range. They actually fit in my narrow ear canals with no issues. There is a bigger size for those with normal ear canals as well. The quality is very durable, made strong and feels like it will last long term. The pouch case is also very well made. 5 stars
4.0 out of 5 stars They’re pretty good
I wear these for work. I use the pugs that came already attached. And they only last two days. Then I used the other pair. They are a little small. But as long as you insert these properly they work well. I work in an extremely loud factory.
I use these plugged into my Sena 10S Bluetooth intercom on my motorcycle helmet. They give me hearing protection and much better audio than the Sena speakers. I've worn them for 6 hrs of riding and they were still comfortable
4.0 out of 5 stars get treks instead
Dont waste your money buy some treks they are way better last longer and more durable plus u can get a base pair for about 80$ MY PLUG PHONES SUCKED BUT I BOUGHT 3 pair of treks my self in 5 years my wife a pair and her mother and all of them still work today
5.0 out of 5 stars Work Well
I got these for my husband who plays music and sometimes likes to go see live bands.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great piece of gear!
Everything about these are great! I use these on my motorcycle to listen to GPS directions and they work great! A steal at the price!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great but need instructions
I have to do yard work which includes a chainsaw. It is much trial and error with these as there are no instructions provided. Once the are figured out they are amazing. To the manufacturer: PLEASE PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS!
My husband told me he wanted me to get these so he could use them at work and not have to use earplugs at work and be able to listen to music. And he says they work great he says that it looks like he has regular ear plugs but in reality he's actually listening to music haha. He is trying to convince me to get him a second pair so he has a spare for if he breaks this one.
I was always trying to get the best speakers and stealthy comm systems in my helmets, these days are over. I can wear any helmet I like with good sound quality and of course prevent hearing loss due to the protection. Normal earbuds don't offer the protection, and are a real pain trying to stay put when putting on your helmet. I ride a noisy Harley now, and ear protection has become a real must have. Actually every motorcyclist should wear protection, the wind noise only will screw up your hearing. I love them, give them a try I would say.
4.0 out of 5 stars Quick use in airports to block unwanted noise
It worked for the intended purpose of blocking out some airports' loud obnoxious music and crazies running around yelling into their cellphones. Compact enough to place in a shirt pocket, easy to pull out & will stay in place in the ear. Secondary use is to connect to my iPhone which when done sound quality is fine. T.C.
4.0 out of 5 stars They do the job
I bought these for when I mow. My other earbuds just can't cut it. I hesitated because everybody said that they were not good for small ears. I found that if you work with him a little bit you can get them in tight. Are they as good as earmuffs No, but they are earbuds.... I am now I happily able to ride around on my mower and not miss any podcasts! I'm a happy camper
5.0 out of 5 stars No one knows I'm listening to audio while working
I work in a plastic factory during 12 hour shifts or not allowed to listen to to music. I used to get by by day dreaming all night but I can't do that all the time. So listening to music Podcast or audio books helps pass the time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing expensive ear plugs
The rolls Royce of ear plugs. It comes with 2 sets of ear plugs, one for full protection with interchangeable comfortable plugs and one that filters out partial noise for concerts. Brilliant! Everything is as shown on box, no need to cut down more trees for a piece of paper with instructions. It's not hard to figure out the strap is for attaching to the plugs so you don't lose them. And a little pouch to keep everything in.
4.0 out of 5 stars Just as advertised!!
My husband uses these at work. He works in a factory and loves having these in everyday while he's working.. His bosses just think that he's wearing protective ear gear, They don't even know that these are actually headphones as well as the ear gear that is required!!!
Because I'm not supposed to wear headphones at work, I bought these to spoof my boss. Absolutely love 'em! Not the greatest, but as the music/sound acts to cancel out any other sounds. There are now about 10-15 pair out on the shop floor and none the wiser!
4.0 out of 5 stars Better then expected !
Bought for motorcycle use. Its only been a few weeks. But so far they work great. Alot more bass then i expected. My only minor complaint is the wire connecting them together is rather long. The battery is good. They are comfortable. They fit under my full face helmet, without popping out of my ears when i put helmet on. The wind and engine noise are muted like traditional earplugs. The sound is loud and pretty darn good.
So Im a welder in a factory, I work 8+ hours a day. I wear these all day everyday. I usually get 6 months out of a pair before one side goes out. If it wasn't for plugfones. I'd probably quit my boring repetitive job a long time ago. The quality gets better with each pair. Now days the audio quality is comparable to skull candy. My first pair sounded like they came from dollar tree. I got a whole year out of my last pair. My first pair only lasted 3 months. I often wear them when doing projects at home, mowing, or riding my motorcycle. They absolutely protect your hearing when you wear properly. I can't say I recommend the for riding a motorcycle. The length of the Bud gets pushed to the side under the helmet and can be uncomfortable but they do cut down on the noise significantly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved them
Was awesome until I got caught with them and my boss cut them in half
5.0 out of 5 stars <3 I love these. So far I've had these and use ...
<3 I love these. So far I've had these and use them consecutively for the last six weeks. I cannot openly wear them with the wire hanging out because of the environment I work in, so I tuck them under my clothing while connected to my device in my back pocket. Since I do tuck the wire and I move around a lot, there's a lot of tugging most of the time on the jack which was very problematic with the old model of Plugfones but the sound is still crisp and clear, no signs of damage (yet, anyway). The foam plugs do get dirty pretty easily but other than that I'm very satisfied with the product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Pro or Old Models
I use Plugfones for motorcycling and have for at least 5 years. After going through about a set a year of the original Plugfones I finally burned through my supply. I loved the sound quality and fitment on those, but the cords would always pull out from the driver or lose insulation at the Y making at least one not work (and I think causing random button presses on my Packtalk as well). Of course this would always happen in the middle of a long trip, but they were so good it didn't matter. The silicone tips on those were great, and though the driver was a bit big it never interfered with anything. It appears the old version may now be called the "guardian" model and have an increased price. Considering the wind noise and other distractions on a motorcycle I figured sound quality was not as important so I picked up this set this time. As soon as I put them in I could tell there was almost no low-end and very little low-mids. There was a ton of digital noise / high pitched static. It is fairly easy to see that the drivers in these are significantly smaller than the older / other model. Still, I figured it would be OK on the motorcycle at speed. I was wrong. They are OK for communication, but the sound is so tinny that to hear it appropriately sometimes you need to turn it up to the point that it is shrill and painful. They suffice, but not very well in the SQ department. As far as fitment - after just ~5 rides in them they now can cause some irritation and itching in my ear. I'll try to clean them more regularly to see if that helps but that is a ton more maintenance and it does not appear as easy to clean this model since you can't remove the tip. I like that with the smaller driver and higher flexibility there is almost no way for them to interfere with my helmet, but after those ~5 rides I'm finding it is quite hard to get them to insert properly (yes, even when I pull my earlobe down and do a proper insert). Part of this seems to be that there's just not really anything good to push on to get them to seat since the whole unit is so flexible. Overall these are passable and certainly better than helmet speakers sitting outside of earplugs (other than the difficulty getting my helmet on - which applies to all plugfones), but I wish I'd spent extra to get the better version. I see that version has yellow tips now, so I hope they haven't changed from the silicone I knew and loved to a foam similar to this set. All things considered I think a few cents of production upgrades could improve this product significantly, but I wonder if it has been corporatized and / or manufacturing shipped overseas to the lowest bidder. I hope quality improves a bit next time I need to buy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for motorcycle use, but durability could be better
I plug these into a Cardo helmet com system instead of the crappy sounding, too quiet helmet speakers, that you can't hear at all if you wear traditional earplugs. These are probably 80 percent as good as foam earplugs and cutting noise, and music/spoken word comes through loud and clear. They stay in place, and being nothing protrudes from your ear but the wire, donning/doffing your helmet doesn't yank them out or cause pain as I found with many other earbuds. However, I've found they're good for about a year. possibly all the helmet on/off stresses the wire, since that's where it seems to break. One bud will start cutting in and out unless the wire is positioned just so. I ride 15-20k a year, and the most recent pair just started having this issue, almost a year on the dot. I had a similar experience with the Liberate Bluetooth version, but those are a lot more expensive to replace. $25 once a year isn't the end of the world, but I'd happily pay a little more for an upgraded/tougher cord.
Sound quality is a little poor but they do their job. They work well as ear plugs and look just like our company supplied ear plugs to be sneaky
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but has a flaw
They definitely block out the outside noise, sound of music is great through them. Only downside is after a couple months of use one side or the other cuts out. Still block out noise but you get no music sound. Have bought 4 pairs now 3 of the 4 this has happened to the 4th ones I haven’t used yet. This happens to other coworkers as well. These definitely don’t last a long time but do work good for the price
I love these. Music not allowed at work i am able to listen to music still hear what I need to all while looking compliant. I just love music it helps drown out the day if coworkers are crappy or negative. My battery can make it from 4:30 am until around 1 or so.
I give this product a 4 star, it would be a five, but due to the fact that the plugphone cannot use the big foam earplugs as well due to the fact that there is a speaker, I would love to see if someone in this world can engineer a "Squish able" speaker to put into a plugfone. I originally bought this because I ride a loud bike and I like to go fast, i have a 2004 suzuki GSXR 600, Yes I'm a gixxer lover, but anyways, I conducted several tests on this product before I came to this review, I based them on: Sound (music), Noise cancelation, and comforbility. The music I think in my opinion was just like any headphone out there, good but not amazing to say if you were to spend the money on something that produces bass. Don't get me wrong, I had my bike doing over 100 MPH, and the music sounded great, best part is, I had it turned up 3/4 way because that's all it needed. I've used headphones in the past and they all slid out of my ears under my helmet while riding so I would loose the music, but plugphone stayed in no matter how hard I rode, and the music was even good with my visor up, lots of wind blowing into my helmet and I still only heard a faint sound of my exhaust and the music. Which brings me to the noise cancelation, for this test I had my music turned off to allow it to be Just a regular ear plug. And to my surprise, it worked better then some of the ear plugs I have, at the 100mph test i was able to hear my surroundings and my exhaust perfectly fine but it wasn't loud enough to wear it would be like not wearing any pertection. Which brings me to the last part, comforbility. Most general headphones would come out, any other fellow riders know what I'm talking about, not only did the plugfone stay in, when I went to remove my helmet (Full faced helmet) I do as I always do even when putting it on, I grab the straps, extend them outward to allow more room for my ears. And to my surprise THEY STAYED IN, I was astonished by that, after having them in for 20 minutes, my ears did start to hurt, but that's due to the fact that I pushed them in as far as I could to get best results. But overall, I would recommend this product to other motorcycle riders, the product is fragile just like any other headphone out there, but the thing is the guys and or gals down at plugfone nailed this . 4/5 stars from this greatful customer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Overall GREAT headphones for work
They get loud. If you insert them correctly, they get really loud. Good battery life per charge, good noise cancellation( they're OSHA certified), good range, good bass, good durability, actually has a good microphone too. I used these for years at my last job without anyone noticing. Don't put these in a washing machine, I've had mixed outcomes. Sometimes they still work, sometimes they don't. As long as you're not using these to swim with, I think you'll be okay.
Bought these to wear under my bike helmet and they do a fair job of noise cancellation and the sound is average but they are primarily for noise reduction and for music as a secondary consideration and in this context they do an admirable job. Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for motorcycle
I got this so I can listen to music when I ride, At 80 MPH it cut's out a lot of wind noise and I can hear the music with out turning it up. It's a very basic system but it works well.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cool!
I work in a warehouse where headphones aren’t allowed but I need music to get me through an entire shift. So I searched for some earphones that looked like the ear plugs at work “which I thought I’d have no luck with” but I found these and read a good amount of reviews and decided to try them out for myself. I was skeptical about the sound quality but they sound very good quality to me. It comes with a case that includes different size heads which I love! As well as a comfort neck support that can come off.
5.0 out of 5 stars Would purchase again 100%
Purchased off of Amazon, sound quality better then my Corsair headset for my PC. Comfy fit, alot of noise reduction for just the standard ear buds, and good Bluetooth distance.
I needed ear protection for mowing the lawn and these sound protecting ear buds are perfect, even for my small ear canals. Soft material is easy to push in and remove. Easy to clean if needed. I recommend these for hearing protection and provide acceptable speaker performance as well.
4.0 out of 5 stars Theyre decent.
I enjoy that it comes with different ear pieces, and that the noise cancelation and sound work great. Only downside to them for me is the battery life is only 6-7 hours, and the microphone I always get complaints about when talking to people.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good headphones for the money you pay
This is my third pair of these headphones they are good quality for the money you pay and I work in them and I do strenuous work so they do get wear and tear and eventually one of the ears will go out after about three months or so and I just order another pair
4.0 out of 5 stars The sound quality isn’t very good for the money but they are what I was ...
The sound quality isn’t very good for the money but they are what I was looking for. I used them last night at work for around 6 hours and there is still over half battery life left and nobody even noticed I was listening to music.
4.0 out of 5 stars Sound Quality. Still a good set.
These are a decent set of ear plug/phones. Very discreet. Look exactly like safety plugs when tucked in the back of your shirt. The cord is very long to allow for the control module and battery to hide in the back of your shirt. On that note, The control module and battery seem to be noticeable under a t-shirt but if attention isn’t brought to it, it won’t be noticed by others I don’t think. I noticed them in the mirror but I know it’s there. Someone else may see it and wonder what is slightly bulging from your shirt. Under the right shirt it shouldn’t be noticed. Especially a shop shirt or collared shirt. Sound quality: Gas station speakers The gas station sound quality can be expected considering the goal is to look like safety plugs. I wouldn’t complain if the quality improved considering the price point of $50. I could see these being sold for $39.95 I was hesitant on buying these because of the price point and expecting them to sound like a gas station speaker. I was not disappointed. But since my employer implemented no more earphones and mandatory ear plugs, I wanted to be able to make the appearance of compliance and have my music. Getting the idea from other employees made me look and I found these. Right out of the box they have a great battery life! They still allow for some entertainment to help pass the time. Not too loud to the point of distraction. The highs can be very shrill but nothing that turning the volume down won’t fix. If the sound quality was better I’d give it a 5 stars and be really happy paying $50. I’ll still use them because they get the job done. The boss and suck up hall monitor employees don’t realize they are Bluetooth. For that reason I am pleased. I would still recommend them to others. Just wish the price was lower and the sound quality could be better if at all possible. Update: had these for a couple weeks now and they are still doing great! After playing around with the positioning of the buds I was able to get better sound quality from them. It helps to put them in a little deeper. But not too deep! Still could use a little more bass but giving the nature of the product they sound very nice. They look exactly like safety plugs and raise no awareness from the boss man or what I like to call “hall monitors”. Keep the volume at a level where you can still hear your surroundings. Pause the track with your smart watch if applicable. I still recommend these. I will also say that with the battery pack and control pack on the wires they tend to fall down the back of my shirt creating a tugging on the ears. I have to pull them back up. If they aren’t in my ears then they will fall down my shirt. It comes with a clip to help this situation but I’d have to put the clip so it doesn’t draw attention. So I don’t use it and just deal with the tugging. Still a nice set of phone plugs and they are OSHA compliant!
5.0 out of 5 stars Your permit to concealed carry a podcast at work!
As a welder, I’ve worked a handful of jobs managed by sadistic old geezers who don’t allow headphones OR radios, ever. As a lifelong learner that also has worked 60+ hours a week for three plus years now, being able to listen to podcasts and audiobooks is a necessity. Enter Plugfones! The answer to an entire generation’s cry for help! After a couple weeks testing it out and comparing it the blue and yellow ear protection at work, I finally came up with the ideal setup 1. Whatever pocket you carry your phone in, punch a small hole at the top and then, as best you can, sew around the edges to prevent us from enlarging. 2. Fit the Plugfones jack and an Apple dongle adaptor (for iPhone) the the hole you created and fortified. 3. Now run the earpieces around your side, up your back, and over your shoulders. Do this BEFORE you put your work shirt on. 4. Now, to prevent the Plugfones from getting dangerously tangled or suspiciously wrapped up, give the earpieces the proper slack (I measure by pulling down to centerline of my chest), then use gorilla tape or duct tape to secure the Y in the cord between your shoulder blades. 5. Enjoy audio practically risk free. I’ve been using this method at a very micromanaged, absurdly safety conscious manufacturing plant, and in 5 months no one has noticed or even given my “earplugs” a second though. Hiding in plain sight!
