FAQ

Are Plugfones approved in my workplace?

Every workplace has their own rules and restrictions on what can or must be used to ensure hearing loss prevention. It has been our experience that the main requirement for most of the facilities that we have spoken with is that the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) for the devices is sufficient for their workplace.

In order to find out whether Plugfones Earplugs with Music will work in your workplace, the best thing to do is ask your manager or company’s Safety Official. When using Plugfones please abide by all the rules established by your place of employment. If Plugfones earplug headphones are not approved for general usage at your workplace, speak with your Safety Official and share our Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) Page with them so they can make an informed decision about their usage at your workplace.

Please contact us if you would like more information to get Plugfones approved for your workplace.

How do I insert my Plugfones?

Inserting Foam Plugfones:

Before inserting the Plugfones into your ears, squeeze or roll the pliable foam earplug material into a compact column or shaft and insert into your ear. Momentarily hold the earplug earphones in place while the foam earplug material expands to form a snug fit to your ear and holds the Plugfones in place.

If they are not easily entering your ear you may open your ear canal slightly more by reaching around behind your head with your opposite arm and grasping your ear. Gently pull your ear back. This action will open the ear canal and allow you to more easily insert your Plugfones Hearing Protection devices.

You can also try adjusting the angle of the plugs once they are in your ears, to get the best sound reduction.

After inserting the Plugfones into your ear, plug the other end of your earplug headphones cord into your mp3 player or other audio device.

Inserting Silicone Plugfones:

The Silicone style Plugfones should enter the ear easily by gently pushing them tip end first into your ear. If they are not easily entering your ear you may open your ear canal slightly more by reaching around behind your head with your opposite arm and grasping your ear. Gently pull your ear back. This action will open the ear canal and allow you to more easily insert your Plugfones Hearing Protection devices.

The Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is a measurement of the number of decibels (dB) that ambient noises are reduced by when a device is used correctly.
